The United States Postal Service proudly presents "Taste of Tennessee and Tennessee Bicentennial CD."
Tennessee takes its name from the Cherokee village of Tanasi, the capital of the Cherokee Nation from 1721 to 1730. Chickasaw, Choctaw, and Shanee Indians were also original inhabitants. In 1796, Tennessee became the 16th state to enter the Union. It is known as "The Volunteer State" because so many Tennesseeans served as volunteer soldiers during the War of 1812. Today, it is a state so diverse in its geographic and cultural elements that it resembles a miniature America.
Released in 1996, The United States Postal Service honors the state with this beautiful stamp set. This set comes with 4 32 cent Tennessee stamps in a stamp envelope, a booklet with information about the CD, and a cd with 11 cuts. Cuts include...
