Prior to 1995, CD manufactures would produce a box in which the cd would come in. This box was to prevent consumers from stealing cds. In the early 1990's, environmentalists stepped in and stopped the manufacturing of these security cd boxes. They stated that it was boxes like these, that were filling up the land fills.
The staff at Strictly Country came across several of these security boxes. Here we have one that was used in the sale of Barbara Mandrell's "Key's In The Mailbox" album, released in 1991. These boxes would make wonderful framed conversation pieces in your home, office or make them a part of your country music collection today! These boxes are extremely rare as most people threw them away and record labels do not manufacture them any more.
